2017-01-19 – Burnaby, BC – BC Road Builders & Heavy Construction Assoc. is pleased to announce the 2017 Board of Directors.
Board Chair Mr. Steve Drummond, is President of Capilano Highway Services Company, which specializes in highway and bridge maintenance, road and underground utility construction and snow removal for residential and commercial developments. Mr. Drummond has over 35 years of construction and maintenance experience in BC involving the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, BC Rail, local municipalities and private sector projects. He has been active with the association for over 20 years.
“This is going to be an exciting and challenging year for the association as we adapt to changes on many fronts – world economies are changing which will likely have an impact on us here in British Columbia,” said Mr. Drummond. “Also, with a provincial election looming, the association is working hard on continuing to advocate for a balanced, safe transportation system that sustains and promotes economic growth as well as safety for all British Columbians. We are excited to welcome our new association President, Kelly Scott to help lead us into these challenging times,” said Mr. Drummond.

BC Road Builders and Heavy Construction Association was formed in 1966 and is the recognized advocate for the development and maintenance of core infrastructure and a balanced, safe transportation system that sustains and promotes economic growth. The association represents firms throughout BC that are involved in all facets of construction and maintenance of our core infrastructure.
The association proudly works with its members to give back to the community having raised over $400,000 in the past 15 years for BC Children’s Hospital and awards its Betty Spalton Scholarships annually to individuals obtaining educations in fields associated with the road building and heavy construction industries.
